Corian© for Worktops & Splashbacks

Our cabinetmakers and site fitters are Corian-accredited and fully trained in the manufacture and installation of this extraordinarily versatile and beautiful solid surface material. If you have specified Corian for your kitchen worktops and splashbacks, all of the work is be carried out in-house with worktops dry-fitted at our workshops prior to installation.

Corian is a solid, non-porous material made up of one third acrylic resin and two thirds natural minerals. The main mineral is extracted from bauxite, an ore from which Aluminium is also produced. Corian is a remarkably durable material that is easy to live with, standing up well to daily use, especially in a kitchen environment with heavy traffic areas.

Corian surfaces do not support the growth of bacteria or fungi and has been certified as a hygienic material. Because of these properties, Corian is used in public places and for sensitive applications such as hospitals, hotels and kitchens.

Marble for Worktops & Splashbacks

We commonly specify natural stone worktops in our kitchen projects. Selecting marble and granite can be a time-intensive yet extremely rewarding process and we can advise on the best natural stone for your kitchen project, whether you have a specific marble or granite type in mind or only a general idea of colourway and tonal palette.

As part of our design development process, we may visit stone stockists to select slabs in person and get an understanding for how the slabs will used in your kitchen. For example marking out the sink position, or perhaps positioning the veining to be used on a breakfast bar panel. Visits to the yard are also a good chance to check for natural defects in the stone such as fissures or colouration issues.

Stainless Steel for Worktops & Splashbacks

Our most common metal finish for a worktop or splashback is stainless-steel. When specifying stainless-steel we prefer to work with material which is solid throughout rather than folded around a substrate

Although incredibly heavy, solid stainless-steel retains the integrity of the material and allows for elements to  be welded in. Items such as stainless-steel sinks can be invisibly jointed and gas hobs seamlessly integrated into stainless-steel worktops.

Our stainless-steel worktops are subcontracted to trusted fabricators. Templating happens towards the end of the kitchen installation process and once templated it will usually take two to three weeks for fabrication followed by installation. During this time we will install temporary worktops so that you can to use the kitchen whilst awaiting the fabricated worktops.
